Emergency Response to Damage from Hurricane Ida on the Morganza Hurricane Protection System

Delta Coast Consultants provides overall Program Management services for the Terrebonne Levee and Conservation District on the Morganza to the Gulf – Hurricane Protection Project. Through this contract, DCC provides multi-level oversight and assists TLCD with nearly every aspect of project implementation including Emergency Response after tropical events. During Hurricane Ida, both the Bubba Dove and Humble Canal flood control structures failed and needed repair.

Immediately following the storm, DCC’s team was able to access each of these structures with the use of side-scan sonar to determine the extent of the underwater damage and provide a competent repair plan that was then implemented by contractors and managed by DCC to put these structures back into service for the remainder of the 2021 hurricane season.
